At the meeting, Wang Ke, the president of the Guangdong Furniture Association, reported on the economic situation of the furniture industry in Guangdong in 2018. According to incomplete statistics, the total sales value of furniture in the province in 2020 was 435 billion yuan, an increase of 3.1% over the previous year of 422 billion yuan, and a net increase of 13 billion yuan, which is expected to account for about 30% of the country. Among them, exports were 19.374 billion US dollars, down 2.0% from the same period of the previous year of 19.773 billion US dollars; domestic sales were about 340 billion yuan, an increase of 5.6% over the previous year of 298 billion yuan. The industry continued to develop at a low speed. Furniture exports have experienced negative growth for the first time since 2011, but continue to maintain the leading position in China's strong furniture province.

 

The 2019 anniversary of the founding of New China is a crucial year for the successful completion of a well-off society. Wang Ke said that this year, the furniture industry in Guangdong Province will fully fulfill the ten tasks of the furniture industry, promote the transformation of the furniture industry from the pursuit of scale to the pursuit of economies of scale, and maintain the overall development speed of the industry by about 5%, forming a green furniture industry in Guangdong Province. Develop new advantages.
